The Aarhus University Research Foundation has granted approx. 1.5 million DKK to Associate Professor Pernille Smith. She receives the grant for her research proposal 'Advancing theorizing and application from process studies'.

Process research and process theorizing has emerged as a sophisticated tool for investigating complex organizational phenomena. However, while process studies are gaining increased legitimacy among organizational scholars, there are challenges with this approach: Abstracting and theorizing phenomena that are in constant flux presents considerable analytical challenges. These challenges have not yet been solved.

The aim of this project is therefore to work on advancing theorizing and application of process studies in organizational research. The project will to run for four years starting now and the funding will be used to open up a Postdoc position, to build up an international network with other process scholars, as well as to establish a research community for colleagues inside the Department of Management who are interested in process studies and process methodology.
