Driving innovation in service organisations

How do service organizations innovate? That is the theme for this year's final presentation in the seminar series “Practitioners in Innovation” held at Aarhus University, School of Business and Social Sciences. On Friday 23 November, the Danish insurance company Codan Forsikring will share its experiences with cultural changes and innovation within the service industry.

Knowledge about innovation management and strategy within the service industry is relatively limited. However, the seminar series “Practitioners in Innovation” at Aarhus University, School of Business and Social Sciences now seeks to make up for this. On Friday 23 November, Anders Hestbech, Managing Director of Commercial Lines from Codan Forsikring offers his contribution to the seminar series with the lecture: “How Organizational Culture can Support Innovation”.

- Traditionally, the field of innovation management focuses on physical products and technologies and has therefore only to a limited extent studied innovation in service industries. This seminar therefore centers how a service company can gear up for innovation, says Lars Frederiksen, Professor of Innovation Management.

Codan Forsikring is an excellent example of how to prepare your organization for innovation, because they have worked actively with their corporate culture before launching the innovation initiatives, as the corporate culture in Codan Forsikring is the key prerequisite for innovation. Anders Hestbech is the man behind this initiative and he will share his experiences in this field at the seminar.
