Organizational changes can ensure the future, according to a new book

The constantly changing market makes it more difficult to prepare your organization for the future.

In their new book, Organizational Design – A Step-by-Step Approach professors Richard Burton and Børge Obel present methods and tools, that can assist managers in coping with present and future organizational challenges. The book answers key management issues, such as:

  • How do you as a leader distinguish between trends and changes of major and minor importance?
  • How should you organize your business so it is flexible and can quickly adapt to changing circumstances, enabling you not to lose markets or productivity?
  • What demands does it make on you as a leader to keep your business fit for the future?

The book, which was published July 1, 2011, features a comprehensive coverage of the key aspects of organizational design, including goals, strategy, process, people, coordination, control and incentives. For this purpose the authors have developed a model which explains all aspects and thereby illustrates the design process.
