The project has now been on its way for 18 months. A strong founding group and governance structure have been established. At the Summit in April 2015 at Maasai Mara University, a broad range of local stakeholders gave inputs to indentify where the challenges are. This is now described in a report a report

The partners have developed a catalog of 36 project ideas to tackle the challenges. Now the next big step is funding, so we can get the the projects started.

This is the main focus of the seminar at Aarhus University, November 23.-24., 2015. Present will members of the Board , the Scientific Board and the AU network

The aim of the seminar is to develop the overall strategy for the future of the MMSDI including fundraising, partners, governance, budget and communication.

It is also important to discuss how this initiative will make a real-life impact and support sustainable solutions to the many challenges of the Maasai Mara. How do we move from research to intervention? Here, feedback from the representatives from the local community and business is vital.

The Scientific Board will discuss academic issues e.g. how we are going to prioritize the 36 project ideas that have been developed by the researchers in the network.

Apart from all these important issues, the seminar will provide good opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing.
