John Howells has had his paper “The Coordination of Independently-Owned Vacuum Tube Patents in the Alleged Early Radio Patent ‘Thicket’”with Ron D. Katznelson chosen for presentation in the Seventh Annual Searle Center Conference on Innovation Economics. The Searle Center on Law, Regulation and Economic Growth awards $1500 to each paper. The conference will be held 19-20 June, 2014, at Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago.

Furthermore, Qualcomm, the San Diego based creator owner and licensor of CDMA, the standard for 3G wireless communication, has invited John Howells and his co-author to their IP policy conference on the grounds that their work is important for an understanding of the patent system, innovation and the current threats to the patent law in the US. This conference took place 20-21 March in San Diego.
