John P. Ulhøi becomes Knight of The Order of Dannebrog

On 11 September 2015, Professor John P. Ulhøi from Aarhus BSS at Aarhus University will be appointed Knight of the Order of Dannebrog by HM Queen Margrethe II.

John P. Ulhøi receives the order in recognition of his impressive career. He has played a key role in developing and leading two MBA programmes, three inter-university research centres/programmes, and one inter-university PhD programme within his field.

The research centres/programmes have been based on funding attracted from:

  • The Danish Council for Strategic Research
  • The National Advanced Technology Foundation
  • The Velux Foundation
  • The National Research Foundation
  • The Danish Council for Independent Research | Social Sciences 

As an international expert, John P. Ulhøi has undertaken various international expert appointments for:

  • The European Science Foundation
  • The European CO-operation in Science and Technology Association
  • The EU Commission: The Directorate-General for Research and Innovation
  • The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research
  • The Israel Science Foundation
  • The Norwegian Science Council.

John P. Ulhøi has also undertaken various leadership appointments at the Academy of Management, the Nordic Academy of Management and the European Doctoral Association in Management and Business Administration. Also, he has received various awards and honours for his research, and he is board member/associate editor of six international journals. He has authored or edited more than 380 publications and has undertaken various advisory functions for different Danish business organisations and firms.

John P. Ulhøi has been at the Department of Management since 1988. In 1989, he enrolled in the department’s PhD programme, and in 1998, he became full professor specialising in organisational behaviour during times of technological discontinuity and environmental constraints.
