What are the e-leadership skills needed in start-ups and SMEs?

The European Commission has awarded Aarhus University, the IS Research Group, and a consortium comprising of INSEAD (FR), IE Business School (ES), Henley Business School (UK), New Bulgarian University (BG) and empirica (DE) a service contract for 900,000 euros to research e-leadership skills in start-ups and SMEs over the next 2 years.  

The service contract ‘LEAD - e-Leadership Skills: for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises’ will develop targeted actions for start-ups and fast growing SMEs to provide them with relevant e-leadership skills and qualifications for entrepreneurs, managers and advanced ICT users that are recognized trans-nationally. LEAD is contributing to the 'Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs' launched by President José Manuel Barroso in 2013 and will be launched as a contribution the Commission’s Communication on 'e-Skills for the 21st Century'.
