An Innovative Research Approach

By focusing on a specific global challenge The Maasai Mara Science and Development Action is a new case-driven approach to interdisciplinary research. 

A founding group and consortium made up of multi-stakeholders will ensure effective knowledge exchange and impact of the research. 

To achieve this from the outset, emphasis will be on designing research activities that directly address some of the multiple and often interlinked challenges related to the interaction between people and the natural environment in the region. This will enable formulation and implementation of concrete development actions based on solid knowledge of the area, the ecosystems and the people.  

Continuous interaction between researchers, relevant stakeholders, and private sector specialist in the design and implementation of development projects, will ensure focus is maintained on the applicability and development relevance of the research throughout the process.
