ICOA was busy at the AOM meeting in Copenhagen in July

Dorthe Døjbak Håkonsson participated in the symposium: “New Directions in Organization Design Research: Exploring Emergence in Design”, which she had co-organized with John Joseph (University of California Saint-Irvine) and Metin Sengul from McCombs School of Business from Texas University at Austin. In this panel, she presented joint work with Kyosuke Tanaka and Erik Larsen: “Coordination in contemporary work settings: The role of information structures in shaping shared situation awareness”.
She also participated in the panel session: Passport to Rigor Experiments and the Quest for Validity, organized by Sheen Levine (CBS) and Markus Taussig (Rutgers Business School).
Finally, Dorthe served as discussant in the PDW: Past, Present, and Future of a Behavioral Theory of the Firm: Reimagining Context in Decision-Making.
Kyosuke Tanaka contributed as a discussion facilitator to a successful PDW on Teaming Around the World (organized by Ilya Gokhman at Georgia Tech, Lindsay Larson at Carnegie Mellon, Jan Schmutz-Henestrosa at U Zurich), discussing innovative teaching methods for teamwork across cultures.
