On Wednesday 30 September 2026, the Center for Accounting hosted the very first MAC Reception in the foyer of the Department of Management. Students from the first and third semester on the cand. merc. in Management Accounting and Control gathered for an afternoon of canapés and alcohol-free drinks and conversation.

After the opening addresses by the MAC program coordinator, Professor Claus Holm, Head of the Center for Accounting, presented the Center's work in research, education and business collaboration across financial accounting, management accounting and auditing. He also reflected on the role of the students in the Center’s educational mission as a "two-way street”. Concluding, the opportunity to pursue a PhD in Management with a focus on management accounting at the Department of Management was highlighted.

Faculty from the MAC program, both teachers and researchers, took part, together with other members and PhD students of the Center for Accounting. The student initiative UMAC was also present with both its legacy and current board.

The rest of the afternoon was set aside for networking, and a good portion of hygge. We hope this is the start of a new tradition that can be extended also to MAC alumni.
