Education

The Center's members teach on a wide range of programmes at Aarhus BSS. Our teaching is research-based and aims to equip students with strong technical competencies, the ability to think critically and to exercise professional judgement.

Master's programmes with an accounting focus

  • MSc in Management Accounting and Control (MAC) — a two-year programme taught in English, focusing on performance management, cost accounting, budgeting, management control and information systems.
  • Cand.merc.aud. (Auditing) — a two-year programme taught in Danish (also offered part-time), providing the theoretical foundation for becoming a state-authorised public accountant.

Other programmes
Members of the Center also teach financial accounting, management accounting and auditing on the bachelor's programme in Economics and Business Administration (HA), on HD programmes, and supervise PhD students in accounting.

More than a programme
We encourage students to see themselves as members of a scholarly community: attend seminars, talk to faculty, and engage with visiting researchers and practitioners. In 2026, both the AUD and MAC programmes introduced annual student receptions, providing opportunities for students, faculty, and practitioners to connect and helping to foster a strong and vibrant accounting community.

Student research assistants
From time to time, the Center employs student research assistants to support ongoing research projects. If you are interested, please contact Claus Holm, hoc@mgmt.au.dk.
