How do we treat Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Supply Chain and Operations Management literature?
A new review paper by our colleague Sebastian Oelrich, together with co-authors from Germany and the U.S., has been published in Production and Operations Management: Extending Operations Management, Operations Research, and Supply Chain Management Research With Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: A Literature Review Approach.
In their paper, the authors address the integration of DEI principles into operations research (OR), operations management (OM), and supply chain management (SCM). The paper reviews the fragmented DEI research within these fields and provides a systematic analysis to establish baseline metrics for DEI. The authors identify opportunities for meaningful engagement with DEI principles and propose guidelines for DEI-aware research. Their analysis offers insights for researchers and practical guidance for institutions aiming to support DEI-aware research. The paper also outlines future research opportunities.
