The Accounting Center at the Annual European Accounting Conference in Rome 2025

Several members of the Accounting Center recently attended the European Accounting Association (EAA) Annual Congress 2025 and its doctoral colloqium, held at LUISS University in the historic city of Rome. The conference brought together leading scholars, researchers, and professionals from across Europe and beyond to discuss the latest developments in accounting research and practice.

Our team actively contributed to the vibrant academic exchange by presenting their latest research on stretch budget targets and pschological safety (Malene, Thomas), uncertainty and gender in tournament sabotage (Markus), budgetary slack and personalities (Mathilde), audit quality and auditor debt (Sam), accounting roles and stereotypes (Sebastian), and ESG ratings and corporate reporting (Stefan). They engaged in panel discussions and networking with peers from other institutions. Their presentations sparked insightful conversations and received positive feedback from the international audience.

In between sessions and during the evening events there were plenty opportunities to meet co-authors and colleagues and strengthen existing and creating new networks.

Beyond the academic programme, the group enjoyed the opportunity to explore Rome’s rich cultural heritage and culinary delights, making the experience both professionally enriching and personally memorable.
