The Accounting Center @ EAA 2024
This May, our colleagues PhD Student Sam Enemark and Assistant Professor Sebastian Oelrich made their mark at the 46th Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA) in Bucharest. Engaging in lively discussions and receiving insightful feedback from esteemed scholars and peers, both thoroughly enjoyed EAA during the sessions, as well as at the social events hosted in the Romanian Athenaeum Grand Hall and the Palace of Parliament.
Sam presented parts of his PhD project on “Psychological Distress and Audit Quality: Sensitive Register-Based Evidence from Denmark,” a collaborative effort with Frank Thinggaard and Niels Skipper from Aarhus BSS. His compelling findings on the intersection of mental health and audit quality left a lasting impression. Meanwhile, Sebastian tackled a different issue on “The Dark Side of Budgets: On the Influence of Dark Triad Traits on Honesty in Budgeting,” co-authored with Thomas Guenther and Tobias Voigtlaender from TUD Technical University Dresden. His exploration of personality traits and budgeting ethics stirred valuable debates.
EAA is the premier European Accounting Conference, drawing over 1,600 delegates from around the globe and featuring more than 800 presentations. It is a great opportunity to foster collaborations among researchers, professional associations, and practitioners.
