On Thursday 24 September, the ODA Seminar Series hosted Lucas Lee, Assistant Professor at IE University in Madrid, who holds a PhD from Yale. Sebastian Oelrich invited him as part of an AUFF-funded project.

Lucas studies diversity in organizations using quantitative and archival methods. In his talk, "A Patent of One's Own: The Real Effects of Pay Transparency Mandates on Women in Innovation," he asked whether mandatory pay-transparency rules can change who invents and what gets invented, for example by giving women already at the firm more opportunities to patent. The seminar had a great turnout from the department and a lively discussion that continued well beyond the session. We thank Lucas for an engaging talk!
