Tobias Otterbring - now associate professor

Tobias Otterbring has been appointed associate professor at the Marketing Section of the Department of Management

We are happy to announce that Tobias Otterbring has been appointed associate professor at the Department of Management as of 1 November.   

Tobias joined the department and the MAPP Centre in July 2017 from a position at Karlstad University in Sweden.

Tobias’ research focuses on how non-verbal cues, such as smiling, eye contact, interpersonal touch, and physical appearance, can influence consumers’ purchase behaviour and product preferences. Such topics are typically investigated through field studies and lab-based experiments, and with a mix of theoretical perspectives, ranging from evolutionary psychology to sensory marketing.
