Research

Dorthe Døjbak Håkonsson is Professor of Management at the Department of Management, Aarhus University, where she also serves as center leader for ICOA (Interdisciplinary Center for Organizational Architecture). She holds a PhD from University of Southern Denmark, and a MA in International Business and Languages (Cand. Negot.), also from University of Southern Denmark (then Odense University).

Dorthe’s research interests relate to organization design, including formal and informal organizing. Her research has appeared in international journals including Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Organization Design, Long Range Planning, California Management Review, and many others. She is currently principal investigator (together with Erik Larsen) on the project: Patterns of Interaction: Emergence and Consequences, funded by the Danish Independent Research Council. She serves as associate editor on the Journal of Organization Design and is member of the board of Organization Design Community.

Teaching activities

Dorthe has taught a range of different courses at both BA, MA, PhD and MBA levels. 

Currently, her teaching involves the course: Organizational Behavior (BA) and Organizational Design and Change (MA - summer school).
