Abstract
My PhD dissertation examines the concept of Value-Based Healthcare. In my dissertation, the role of accounting within Value-Based Healthcare is clarified, and by applying a consistent case in my three papers, I clarify the influence and use of accounting in the management of healthcare.

In my presentation, I will first outline how the three papers in my dissertation complement each other in the study of the influence and application of accounting within the Value-Based agenda. Then I will present the second paper of the dissertation. This paper examines the application and operationalization of value-based cost practices in a regional area of Denmark. Using institutional theory, this paper examines how the established value-based approach through regulation relates to cost management and how this is institutionalized in healthcare organizations.
