On 4 March at 11:00 via Microsoft Teams, there will be a 1st year PhD presentation by Shahab Kazemi entitled:

Understanding of consumer/user behavior and their adoption and acceptance of Smart Home devices

Supervisors: Marco Hubert & Lars Frederiksen
Discussants: John Thøgersen & Dorthe Døjbak Håkonsson

Abstract
While using smart devices and subsequently smart homes has increased dramatically during the recent years, many customers still do not understand the real value that connected smart devices can generate and therefore not willing to use smart homes (McKinsey&Company, 2018). Although many different theories and recently their combinations have tried to explain the adoption process, we lack a comprehensive framework that be able to explain a large percentage of variance in the intention of use smart home technology. My doctoral work is trying to integrate the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) with the perceived risk theory (PRT) to explain and predict the adoption process in a smart home ecosystem.
