The Council for SME:Digital will further develop SME:Digital, a programme to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) become more digital.

The programme provides funding for digital projects at SMEs. The programme also helps SMEs understand how best to strengthen their competencies. Or how to change their organisation to become more digital.

Members of the Council for SME:Digital are appointed by the Minister for Digital Government and Gender Equality for a two-year term.

"Danish businesses are among the most digital in the world, but the SMEs are lagging behind their larger counterparts. We have to help them make up the gap," says Minister for Digital Government and Gender Equality Marie Bjerre in a press release.

SME:Digital was established in 2018 and the programme supported almost 6,000 digital projects at SMEs in the period 2018-2022.

Mette Neville is heading the Digital Catalyst project at the Department of Management. The project focuses on equipping the boards of SMEs to work strategically with new digital technologies. She was recently behind the introduction of a new programme for SME board members, focusing on digital transformation.
