The University of Belgrade was the venue for the awarding of this year’s Inter Circle U. Prize, and Janet Rafner (Head of Operations at the Center for Hybrid Intelligence) was among the three recipients.

The Inter Circle U. Prize is awarded to innovative interdisciplinary research projects, and Janet Rafner received the prize for the Crea.visions project which enables large-scale public participation in tackling societal issues using an AI-assisted image generation tool.

In a recent interview, she stresses that interdisciplinary work opens many possibilities, but can also be time-demanding and challenging to find funding for – which is why the seed funding from the Circle U. alliance has proved important to her work.

The Circle U. alliance is part of the European University Initiative. Besides Aarhus University, its members are Humboldt-Universität, King’s College London, UC Louvain, University of Oslo, Université Paris Cité, University of Pisa, University of Vienna, and the University of Belgrade.
