Thomas Borup Kristensen's research interests include management accounting related to lean, the role of finance functions, stress, and costing. In current projects, he focuses on lean, industry 4.0, and management accounting together with LEGO and Velux. Another project focuses on the relationship between management accounting, financial reporting, and psychological stress using a combination of surveys and Statistics Denmark databases.

Thomas comes from a position as professor at Aalborg University. He says that he really looks forward to joining the department where he will become part of the Organisation, Strategy and Accounting section. Thomas is excited to start working with the accounting group and is also open to collaborations across the department and Aarhus BSS. Thomas already knows Aarhus BSS quite well as he has been an external lecturer here for many years.
